One of the newcomers to the Grand Strand golf scene, Diamond Back Golf Club features unusual 40-foot elevation changes making this course anything but flat. Architect Russell Breeden has carved an out-and-back loop-style routing through heavily-forested boundaries, intervening creeks, wetlands and cypress swamps. The superb Jensen Ultra Dwarf greens feature sweeping slopes with interesting, but not radical, contouring. A par-72 layout that measures 6,928 yards from the tips, Diamond Back should prove to be a course that can stand up to all who challenge it. |
