A purist’s dream, the Bald Head Island Club is a seaside masterpiece. Like the first courses in Scotland, most of the Bald Head Island Club course stretches across rolling dunes overlooking the ocean. Architect George Cobb left much of the land the way he found it – carved by wind and water.
The golf course recalls the early days of golf design when landscape architects allowed the land to reveal its own character, challenge, and inspiration. A long, mature course, it offers a refreshing opportunity for golfers to experience the game the way it was originally intended to be played. Play proceeds at a relaxed pace, and there is rarely an occasion when a preferred tee time is not available. With a slope rating of 139, the 6,855 yard course wraps around freshwater lagoons, through a maritime forest, and across dunes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
The Bald Head Island Club features a modern clubhouse and pro shop. The pro shop offers a variety of men’s and ladies’ apparel and golf equipment for sale or rent. After your round of golf enjoy a delicious meal in the club’s restaurant and a refreshing drink in the bar.
