Lockwood Folly Country Club is a superbly conditioned, semi-private, member owned "hidden gem." This meticulously maintained premier course was carved from a private hunting preserve. It is located adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway and Lockwood Folly River providing golfers with breathtaking views of low country tidal estuary, the adjacent waterway, and ocean. This unique quality layout features moss covered hardwoods adjacent to nonparallel fairways winding through this incedible landscape. It affords golfers a stimulating test of shot making within a picturesque setting blending with nature's surrounding providing a unique serenity.

This Willard Byrd, 18 hole par 72 masterful design provides challenges and rewards for strategic shot making for all levels of golfers. In 1988 it was nominated as a "Top 10 New Course in North Carolina. It received the Golf Digest award of "FOUR STAR PLACES TO PLAY" in 2000 and 2002. Additionally, it was chosen in a Myrtle Beach Golf Magazine voter poll as "BEST RESIDENTIAL GOLF COURSE" - 2002 and "MOST PICTURESQUE GOLF COURSE" - finalist - 2002.
