| True Blue, adjacent to Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, has received countless awards since opening in 1998, including Fifth Best Public Course In America from Golf Digest, Top Ten Place To Play from Golf Magazine, and one of the Top 100 Courses in America from Golfweek. In 2001, True Blue was rated #13 by Golf Digest in their Top 25 Courses in South Carolina.
True Blue Golf Plantation is a 6,842-yard, par-72 championship golf course located on the site of historic True Blue Plantation, the famed 19th century indigo and rice plantation. Designed by architect Mike Strantz, True Blue emphasizes the natural beauty of the area, utilizing native grasses and vegetation and maintaining much of the character of the property. The course also offers an 18-acre practice facility with a learning center. In an effort to maintain its ranking as one of the top ten courses in South Carolina and one of the best courses in the country, True Blue Golf Club underwent a renovation project in 2000 that gave the course some of the top golf course greens available to golfers on the Grand Strand. True Blue's reconstruction project involved replacing all of the greens, originally G-2 bent grass, with TifEagle grass, a new and highly regarded strain of Bermuda grass. |
